On the issues of medical care and health maintenance, students solve “super-aging society” problems in a special class held at Kawasaki High School for Science & Technology since last year.
Summary:
Kawasaki High School for Science and Technology has implemented special classes aimed at helping students understand the challenges of a super-aged society and consider solutions. Last year, several classes were conducted, and this year, the program will continue for second-year students. The theme of the classes focuses on providing medical care that is reassuring even when one is ill, as well as health maintenance strategies using new technologies. This initiative is part of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology’s national program "COI-NEXT", which aims to encourage young people to think about issues such as the increase in patients due to aging and the shortage of healthcare workers. The Innovation Center of NanoMedicine is leading this effort, with 37 students from the science department, who are likely to pursue studies in science and engineering, participating in the program.
